The founder and lead teacher of Jen Norvell Studios, Jennyfer began studying the violin and piano in the Suzuki tradition at a young age and studied under the direction of Virginia Raulston. She was accepted to Youth Performing Arts High School where she sat 1st chair in chamber and symphony orchestra. Throughout her education she competed in the National Federation of Music Festivals, earning the highest rankings each year. She is a member of Music Teachers National Association and Suzuki Teachers of America.
Jennyfer's twenty-eight years of teaching experience along with a background in music education and educational psychology allows her to tailor instruction to the individual, ensuring success. Using positive reinforcement and a strong base in musical theory with ample opportunities to perform, Jennyfer believes that every student can achieve a life long love of music! |
Christy Apodaca joined our studio in June 2018 and became the Conservatory Director in 2021. She serves as the Vice-President of the Central Florida Music Teachers National Association and coordinates exams and competitions for Conservatory students. With a passion for classical music, a fun spirit, and a love for children, Christy makes the perfect teacher for students of all ages!
Alexander Spock is an extremely talented flutist and Florida native. In addition to the flute, Alexander also plays and teaches piano. He holds a Bachelors degree in Flute Performance from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, FL. At UNF, Alexander studied with renowned Body Mapping instructor and Jacksonville Symphony flutist Rhonda Cassano. Alexander also holds a Masters degree in Flute Performance from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. There, he studied with famed flutist Dr. Lisa Wolynec. Alexander is also a regular student of William “Wibb” Bennett, one of the most sought-after flute teachers of the last hundred years. Alexander has performed regularly as the Principal Flute for numerous Honor, Collegiate and Intercollegiate Festival Orchestras, including JSYO, UNF, APSU, FMEA, and TMEA in Nashville. Alexander is an avid teacher and student of Body Mapping and Alexander Technique. He also specializes in Music History and has taught university classes on American Music History, World Music, and World Popular Music.
Gabe Norvell has been studying piano for fifteen years. With classical training and a love for classic rock, Gabe brings the best of both worlds. His Improv class is a hit among many of our students and always fast to fill up. Gabe also leads our Ukulele group classes. Perfect for young, energetic students, Gabe is a master at channeling that energy into music kids love!
Catherine Du began classical training in piano when she was four, violin when she was six, and singing when she was nine. She competed at the Music Teachers National Association for both piano and violin, winning several first place awards and the Chopin Scholarship award. She places first at Steinway's Junior Piano Competition and 2nd in the Stockholm International Music Competition. Along with her passion for performing, Catherine also greatly enjoys teaching. No matter the age of the student, she looks forward to walking with them on their lifelong journey to explore the wonders of music.

as in life. She began painting in her teens but set paints aside for a season of studying opera,
falling in love, and starting a family. Returning to her first love, her “second act” includes works
in watercolor, ink on Yupo, oil and pastel. She is a member of the Georgetown County
Watercolor Society, Sea Coast Artists’ Guild, Waccamaw Neck Arts Alliance, Southeast Pastel
Society and was Founder and President of Chalk & Paper (low country pastel society). She
